Technical Details
The development has started on the prototype for Visual Processor,
based on the Requirements Document release on SourceForge.net.
The technology choices for the prototype (which are likely to be used in the
main development) are as follows:
- Objective C is the language being used.
- ObGnome/ObGtk are being used to interface to Gnome/Gtk.
Objective C is often associated with the OpenStep standard and it's associated
implementations. Unfortunately, there are no implementations of OpenStep that
produce standard Gnome applications, one of the requirements for
Visual Processor, hence the use of direct wrapper libraries around Gnome/Gtk.
This gives access to the powerful GnomeCanvas component that will be the
basis for process diagram presentation.
Keep watching this space! More content will be made available as the development
proceeds.
